Colorado is blessed with the nation's third-largest natural gas reserves, and we now have a balanced and comprehensive framework that will increase demand and encourage responsible natural gas drilling while also ensuring cleaner air, greater protections for water, wildlife and communities, and more local jobs.  RoweLaw has been in the forefront of Colorado’s legislative and public regulation efforts, including the Colorado Clean Air-Clean Jobs Act--the nation's first statutory plan to replace old, inefficient and dirty coal-fired power plants with cleaner-burning natural gas. This landmark law complements earlier measures to improve environmental regulations in the face of a 10-fold increase in drilling over the past decade.  Our attorneys understand the public affairs, legislative, and public regulation issues that can help any business flourish and grow in the New Energy Economy.  Whether just starting a business or protecting an established operation, our attorneys can help a business realize its goals.  Our clients range from large corporations to small businesses. Whatever the needs, our attorneys have the knowledge and practical experience necessary to counsel and advise your business, the skills to negotiate and successfully close business transactions and resolve challenges, and the fortitude and ability to go to trial when needed.

• Business formation: (LLC, S corporation, C corporation, partnership).
• Employment law: (employment disputes, employment contracts, civil rights issues, discrimination claims and termination.
• Mergers, acquisitions, real estate law.

I have read the disclaimer.

Our attorneys have specialized in legal issues involving public utilities and other regulated industries, including matters involving providers of electricity, natural gas and telecommunications and taxicabs.  Expertise related to these regulated industries includes legislative lobbying and testimony; drafting and interpretation of statutes, including for regulation and regulatory change; representation of clients in hearings before public utilities commissions and other governmental regulatory bodies; representation of clients in appeals of regulatory orders; drafting, negotiation, and interpretation of contracts and tariffs; and analysis of issues related to rules, cost of service, accounting, and rate of return.

Unfortunately, despite anyone’s best efforts, disputes need to end up in court.  We evaluate and approach each litigation case with only one goal in mind, the best possible resolution of the dispute for our client.  We offer litigation services to resolve personal and business-related disputes, whether through informal settlement, mediation, arbitration, or court trial. Legislative lawyering: The discipline of combining knowledge of political realities with a thorough understanding of legal issues -- to develop legislation that effectively meets one's goals and still has a realistic chance of passage, or to stop or modify legislation that is antithetical to one's goals. Professor Chai Feldblum, Georgetown University Law Center.

Legislative lawyers are a critical component for any successful advocacy effort. We combine a rigorous knowledge of the law (including statutory interpretation, the law concerning a specific policy issue, legislative history, and a keen appreciation of text) with a sophisticated understanding of current political realities. We have the field experience allowing us to see how such a combination can result in the development of creative and sophisticated legal solutions to difficult problems, and to advise our clients in the legislative arena.
